Mental Health Awareness Week 2019
In a world that is increasingly opening up to and understanding those with mental health issues, it’s no surprise that Mental Health Awareness Week is now a firm fixture on calendars around the UK and beyond. It’s organised by the Mental Health Foundation and focuses on a major issue each year.
In 2019, Mental Health Awareness Week has been focused on ‘Body Image - How we think and feel about our bodies’.
Body image issues can affect all of us at any age and directly impact our mental health.
30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
That’s almost 1 in every 3 people.
Research has shown that distress related to poor body image does contribute to mental health problems, but this can be prevented.
The On Line Group is committed to providing support on mental health for our employees. You can talk in confidence to Louise Arnett (HR Director and Mental Health Champion) directly who can assist you and connect you with others who may be able to help you further. Further information can be found in our Mental Health stand at various locations.
