Piping Engineer, Jon Dixon is due to compete in this year’s Triathlon World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Jon first qualified to represent Great Britain at the European Championships in August last year, where he raced alongside some of the fastest and best Triathletes in Europe. Shortly after, he then qualified to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Switzerland.

More than 4000 professional and amateur triathletes from all over the world are expected to take part in these World Championships, whose different routes will liven up the shores of Lake Geneva for a weekend.

On Saturday, August 31, the Elite Men's and Women's races will take place. These events will be broadcast live on national television channels and will crown the world's top two triathletes within a year of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Saturday will not be exclusively reserved for professionals, as amateur triathletes in the "Age Group" category will embark on a new Sprint course (750m swimming, 20km cycling and 5km running) in Lausanne.

Jon said; “I have been training solidly now for 10 Months towards this race, at least twice, if not three times daily in preparation for what is the biggest race in ITU triathlon racing this year, I’m looking forward to walking out to the swim start surrounded by the fastest triathletes in the world, knowing I am there to represent my country, my family, friends and supporters.

I have no real targets for the race, I have dedicated so much time, and sacrificed so much just to make the start line, I want to enjoy the race and the experience, and we’ll see where I place come the ‘blue carpet’.”

On Line Group wish Jon all the best in his race!
