With the On Line Group’s policy on continuous I.T. investment, we will this week be taking delivery of a Direct Attached Storage (DAS) server solution. A state of the art server will host all of our server installations in a virtual environment providing automatic failover conditions should any of the server instances (or hardware) show any signs of potential failure. Disk space can easily be increased by purchasing additional DAS units and just plugging them in.

To complement this, the Group will be expanding its on-site and off-site backup strategy with two additional Network Attached Storage (NAS) units. The fibre optically connected devices will minimise any elements of downtime by providing complete server restores within minutes as opposed to hours.

Immingham based Stress Engineer Steve Ford and his partner Dilma became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl on Wednesday 27th April 2016. The new addition weighed in at 6lb 6oz and they have decided to call her Emily May Silva Ford.

As a Stress Engineer working at On Line’s Pelham Road office, Steve received some first-hand experience of a different type of stress whilst waiting for Emily to be born. She was the first baby that either Steve or Dilma have had and as all parents know it is always a tense and stressful time waiting for the birth. However, Steve said that the maternity staff at Scunthorpe general hospital were brilliant and they were rewarded at 10.02 pm with the arrival of gorgeous Emily.

Steve’s partner Dilma is originally from Brazil, hence the middle name of Silva, and her mother is currently over from Brazil visiting Steve and his family in order to spoil her new granddaughter.

The photographs show Emily with her mum only 2 minutes after her birth and by herself 10 days later proudly showing off her beautiful head of hair.
