Apprenticeship and Industry Career Open Evening
On Thursday 4th February Ethan Smith, Dan Pashby, Duncan Russell and Louise Arnett all attended the Apprenticeship and Industry Career open evening at Catch in Stallingborough.
Over 400 children were at the event which gave them the opportunity to not only look around an ECITB approved training facility but also talk to apprentices about what it is like to be an ECITB apprentice. It also offered the opportunity to speak with employers who are taking on apprentices and to training providers who deliver the skills training required by the industry.

Roy Coleman, the On Line Group’s IT Manager has retired from the Company on 28th January 2016.
Roy originally joined On Line from CADFAX in September 1992 when the company was in the process of converting from manual design systems to CAD. As IT manager Roy was responsible for developing and delivering the Companies IT solutions, and for many years he kept On Line ahead of all of our local competitors.
Some of the projects that he initiated were the installation of On Lines first network and centralised data storage, at a time when all of our local competitors were using standalone machines and floppy disc data backup, the installation of a satellite internet connection, before broadband came to Immingham, the installation of a wireless network link between Immingham and Hull, before fibre optic cables were installed across the Humber Bridge, and the installation of a private fibre optic line connection On Line and On Loan House.
Before joining On Line Roy had worked for the Sumitomo Corporation in Tokyo, and several other companies including British Steel, Associated Technical Services and Ashton Scott Limited. We wish Roy a long and happy retirement where he can enjoy his outside interests of travelling and dancing.
